Jerusalem (CNN) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark warning Sunday instructing Jewish settlers not to “grab land illegally” in the occupied West Bank, after humanitarian bodies raised the alarm over a series of deadly attacks on Palestinian villagers. At the same time, Netanyahu repeatedly endorsed the construction of settlements approved by the government, which are considered illegal under international law.“Calls to grab land illegally and actions of grabbing land illegally, are unacceptable to me. They undermine law and order in Judea and Samaria [West Bank] and must stop immediately,” he said at a cabinet meeting on Sunday.“Not only will we not back such actions, our government will take strong action against them.“These calls and actions do not strengthen settlement – on the contrary, they hurt it. I say this as someone who doubled settlement in Judea and Samaria despite great and unprecedented international pressure to carry out withdrawals that I have n...Greece’s conservatives set for a second term

The major reforms will therefore proceed with speed as this is the choice of the Greek people and I will honor it in full.”Sunday’s elections were the second held in the country...Police identify 2 teens found fatally shot in Braintree

CHICAGO (AP) — Luis Robert Jr. had two home runs among his three hits to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 4-1 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.Andrew Benintendi added two hits and Robert homered for the second straight game, raising his season total to 21, as the White Sox won their first series in four attempts. Chicago had lost nine of its last 13 games.“If he hits pitches in the strike zone, he’s going to do unbelievable damage and that’s what he’s done the last few days,” manager Pedro Grifol said about Robert. “He’s hunting for off-speeds up. He’s hitting fastballs. He’s not chasing as much. He’s a really damn good player. And he’s still 25 years old. He’s still learning the game. … There’s no doubt in my mind this guy’s an All-Star.”Chicago’s Jesse Scholtens (1-2) threw four scoreless innings to earn his first major league win. Keynan Middleton pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save.Adam Duvall had two doubles for the Red Sox, who had won seven of 10.“Unfortunatel...Luis Robert Jr. is making an All-Star case with 2 more homers in the Chicago White Sox’s 4-1 win vs. the Boston Red Sox

STOCKHOLM — A roller coaster train derailed in Stockholm on Sunday, sending some passengers plunging to the ground in an amusement park accident that left one dead and nine injured, police and park officials said.Witnesses described a chaotic scene at the Gröna Lund park as the front of the train appeared to jump off the tracks before coming to a stop, with one car tilted toward the ground.“The front of the train partly derailed and stopped on the track at a height of between between 20 and 25 feet,” park chief executive Jan Eriksson said. “A total of 14 people were on board, of which one person has died and several are injured.”The regional government said nine people were taken to a hospital, one of them in serious condition. One of Boston’s most promising prospects just got a lot closer, both literally and figuratively, to the big show.Ceddanne Rafaela found out about his promotion from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday. He’s now just one level and about 40 miles, or 45 minutes (without Mass Pike traffic) from Fenway Park.It was somewhat surprising that Rafaela even began the season in Portland, after a standout performance in 2022 led to the organization’s Minor League Defensive Player of the Year award (and Baseball America’s Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year), a spot on the 40-man roster, and his first major league spring training. Currently the organization’s No. 3 prospect, the Curaçao native broke out last season when he moved from the infield to center field and became a one-man highlight reel.Rafaela’s defense is already described as Gold Glove-caliber; Double-A manager Chad Epperson made headlines last summer when he said that the young ...Family of Everett girl who’s in a coma after being struck by vehicle in Chelsea sues driver: ‘Devastating trauma’

Whoever ends up leading the city will have to deal with a nearly $1 billion budget shortfall, a housing affordability crisis and aging public infrastructure, among other issues. Eudokia Kliadres moved to Canada from Cyprus four decades ago, raised a family, worked at a Toronto hospital for years and is now retired. But the 72-year-old said she’s having a hard time making ends meet. “We can’t afford vegetables and healthy food,” she said, pointing to her grocery bag in her hand as she stood outside a shopping mall in Flemingdon Park.“I am retired, the pension that I get is not enough, not even for the rent.” Kliadres criticized politicians for not doing enough to support residents as the cost of living in the city skyrockets. She said she hoped the next mayor would take action to lower the cost of housing and groceries. She also hopes ...Latest news
